Description

Sufi whirling (or Sufi spinning) is a form of SEMA or physically active meditation which originated among Sufis, and which is still practiced by the Sufi Dervishes of the Mevlevi order. It is a customary dance performed within the Sema, or worship ceremony, through which dervishes aim to reach the source of all perfection. This is sought through abandoning one's Nafs, ego, or personal desires, by listening to the music, focusing on God, and spinning one's body in repetitive circles, which has been seen as a symbolic imitation of planets in the Solar System orbiting the sun, As explained by Sufis Heart-Centered Sufi Dancing is a beautiful Spiritual Practice, a meditation of Divine Light and Bliss. Mr. Shafique Farooqi is an international fame artist for his solo and group exhibitions, art studio and gallery work, calligraphy, paintings, seminars, and actual art contribution. He has been expressing his impressions, observations, and experiences in more than 10,000 art pieces and 105 Solo shows. He has mastered the art of Calligraphy, Landscape, Watercolor, Journey of Line, and cabalistic paintings, which reveals his personality in a novel creation, “The Tale of Drunken Flute in Whirling Dervishes”, already launched in Pakistan.
