Fields of heather

Morag Beaton fought against the odds to become a surgeon in the West Highlands, a real achievement in the 1930s. She becomes romantically involved with a young journalist, until tragedy strikes. She buries herself in her work and a local rescue team, but World War II threatens to change everything.
