Since their formation by Winston Churchill during the dark days of the Second World War, the Commandos have been regarded as among the most feared amphibious infantry in the world. Lightly equipped, fast, silent and deadly - the Commandos epitomize the modern soldier. They are highly trained, disciplined, tough, determined and efficient, always basing their operations on speed, mobility, surprise and firepower. But who are the Commandos? What qualities do they have beyond those of the normal soldier? There are two ways to join the Royal Marine Commandos: thru the Recruit Troop Course for teenagers; or thru the All Arms Commando Course for volunteers from the other services.
