Description
In the book 'Cricket - A Kind of Pilgrimage' by Emma Levine has a image from Lahore's Iqbal Park is captioned as "Twin towers of Pakistani Culture: In the background is the Minar-e-Pakistan built in 1960 to commemorate Pakistan's independence. In the foreground, the mark of a more long-standing culture, the ubiquitous bricks signify where the match will start. Iqbal Park, Lahore." What a wonderful description of a country crazy in its love for cricket. The book is made up of photographs taken by Emma in the early 90s depicting the craze of the game in this part of the world. Needless to say, it does a brilliant job at capturing the obsession. The photo is just one of the many powerful photos in the book.
