'The Ancient Synagogue of Beth Alpha - An Account of the Excavations Conducted on Behalf of the Hebrew University, Jerusalem', by Eleazar L. Sukenik. This large rare hardback was published by Jerusalem at the University Press in 1932, and is an account of an archaeological dig of a 6th century synagogue by the lead archaeologist. Fifty-eight pages of text are accompanied by more than 50 illustrations. The main text is further supplemented by more than two dozen plates and a fold-out plan. The book is in good condition. Boards are slightly rubbed and frayed along the edges, and bent at the corners. One board is slightly chipped on one edge. The spine exhibits some fraying. The text is in fine shape, with minor sporadic foxing and a few small page corner bends being the only flaws. The binding is firm.
