The chester beatty library - a handlist of the arabic manuscripts

This very rare set of scholarship is an annotated list of manuscripts contained in the Chester Beatty Library. The first two volumes were published by Emery Walker in 1955 and 1956; the remaining volumes were published by Hodges Figgis from 1958-1966, the final index volume being compiled by Ursula Lyons. Each volume contains 100-200 pages of text followed by many plates, with the total number of plates being 200. The set is in good condition. Spine titling is faded in some places, and the boards evince some rubbing and wear. Page edges are scuffed and stained in places. The binding is firm and the internal text is in very good condition, with the occasional smudge or mark being the only major defects. Pages are clean and without tears.
