A Fourth Lakeland Sketchbook

These five collections of intricate pen-and-ink drawings by A. Wainwright -uthor of the legendary pictorial guides to the Lakeland Fells - were firstublished in the late sixties and early seventies. In typically forthrightanguage, the author called the first of them his private rebellion againstacceptance as art of poverty-stricken and barren inspiration and rank badxecution'. Each sketchbook contains eighty delightful pen-and-ink drawingsf Lakeland scenes. Each drawing is accompanied by a simple map to identifyhe location of the viewpoint in relation to its surroundings.
