Description
This rare hardback is a first edition, published by Seeley, Service, & Co. in 1913 with 246 pages accompanied by almost two dozen illustrations. The text was edited by Grace Ellison. It contains the travel account and experiences of Hadidjé Zennour, a woman of the Ottoman elite who left Turkey for France in the early 20th century. The book is in fair condition. Boards are bumped, rubbed, and frayed. Page edges, endpapers, and some internal pages are foxed. There is an old name inscription to the title page. The binding is firm and the text is clean.
