How does a poem mean?

This wonderful book teaches by exposing the reader to great poems (and some intentionally not-great) in the context of useful questions about how poets write poems that matter to readers. As someone who writes far more prose than poetry, I found the reflections on and examples of how poets convey meaning helpful to my efforts to write more compellingly. This is as far from the stereotype of poetry interpretation as I can imagine.
