This book provides an observation of the Turkish army from the inside. The Turkish army, consisting 800,000 men, is accorded a very privileged status and public criticism of it is virtually prohibited. The author, a Turkish journalist, was given permission to live with Turkish officers to prepare this book in which he shows how the army is organized, how officers are trained and how strategy is planned.
