Now I don't feel as if I need to apologize for being who I am. Nor do I need to give an explanation. I understand something very important about myself. I'm not damaged goods. It's not my fault that I feel the way I do because my parents taught me to feel the way they wanted me to (and then got angry at me for it!) It's a good self-help book. I'm not good at the therapy thing because I can't voice what I want to say because I was taught to shut up, suck it up, sit it out, swallow it and never, never share anything with anybody for any reason and if you do you will be so very, very sorry. Alcolhism really did affect each and every one of my family members and their children and their grandchildren and will keep on affecting them negatively until you learn about how alcohism works on a person's identity. Really do yourself a favor and read this. With a box of tissues. It's painful but it works.
